Our founding story

Layla originally planned to go to law school, but the success of her first business shifted everything. As she continued scaling her brand, she realized her favorite part wasn’t just the product—it was the marketing. She loved the strategy behind content creation, the way community forms around a brand, and how modern businesses partner with influencers, use trend-driven storytelling, and show up creatively to build trust and visibility.

She saw a gap in the market for agencies that understood this new era of marketing. Not stiff or outdated—something more hands-on, more social, and more connected to how people actually consume content today. She knew she could bring that vision to life for other brands too.

Creative Gold Agency started as a one-woman team, built from Layla’s apartment with nothing but a laptop and the skills she had developed through experience. The demand grew quickly, and soon she began partnering with designers, creators, photographers, and social media experts to keep up with the momentum.

Since then, CGA has worked with over five dozen leading brands across industries including beauty, wellness, food, hospitality, fashion, and more. The agency helps businesses bring their vision to life through social-first content, brand design, influencer strategy, and custom marketing campaigns.

What sets CGA apart is not just the work—it’s the way we work. We’re local, collaborative, and community-driven. Whether we’re on set creating content in person or building out a visual identity from scratch, our goal is always the same: to help you grow with bold, creative marketing that actually works.

Layla Renner, the founder and CEO of Creative Gold Agency, started her first business at just 19 years old. While studying at Ohio University, she launched a candle company from her college dorm room and used nothing but social media to market her products. Her content quickly gained traction and went viral, leading to national features in Business Insider and Rachael Ray Magazine.

What began as a way to pay for school turned into a growing brand. Layla learned firsthand how to build a loyal customer base, manage a team, and scale a business through organic content and creativity. She fell in love with the process of using visuals, storytelling, and social media strategy to turn a small idea into something big.
